Three same-sex couples have sued the state of Alaska and the municipality of Anchorage for denying them equal access to property tax exemptions afforded to senior citizens and disabled veterans. Benefits given to married couples in Alaska or veterans are afforded extra benefits for couples which can amount to around $150,000 in property tax exemptions. Gay and Lesbian couples (Alaska doesn’t allow gay marriage) in the state cannot receive any of these benefits and are thus discriminated against.
Where does NH stand on these same rights? Elderly gay couples exist everywhere!
