Mitt Romney is running for President. Mitt Romney is an ass.

With that said, moving on! In Manchester, NH earlier this week, Mitt Romney tried to build momentum on the fact that Manchester Mayor Ted Gatsas has endorsed him for Presdent. Unfortunate for Romney, he decided to randomly stop into a Manchester diner (Chez Vachon) and approach a Vietnam Vet having breakfast — with his husband. A fact unforseen by Romney when he sat down and started glad handing the media and Bob Garon.

They below information was quoted from the NY Times..

The former Massachusetts governor approached Bob Garon, 63, at a Manchester diner to ask him about his tour in Vietnam.

But Garon — who was accompanied by his husband — wanted to know if Romney would back efforts to repeal the state’s law that legalized gay marriage in the state.

Romney insisted during the stop — meant to tout his recent endorsement by the city’s mayor — that he believes marriage is “between a man and a woman.”

“It’s good to know how you feel, that you do not believe everyone is entitled to their constitutional rights, Garon retorted.

“No actually I think at the time the Constitution was written it was pretty clear marriage was between a man and a woman,” said Romney as an aide jumped in, insisting they had an interview with Fox News to go to.

Garon quipped, “Oh I guess that question was too hot.”

Romney then turned to Garon and replied, “No I gave you the answer, you said you had a yes or no answer and I gave you the answer.”

Garon gave one last zing, “You did and I appreciate your answer. And I learned something: New Hampshire is right, you have to look a man in the eye to get a good answer and you know what governor? Good luck. You’re going to need it.”

Romney then agreed that he’d need the luck, shook Garon’s hand and walked away.

When asked by reporters why he wanted to grill Romney on the issue, Garon said, “Because I’m gay, all right?” he said. “And I happen to love a man just like you probably love your wife.”

Mo Baxley, the executive director of New Hampshire Freedom to Marry is resigning due to lack of funding for the organization. Mo Baxley has led the organization for nearly six years. Baxley was the group’s first executive director and worked to win passage of laws recognizing gay unions. She said she is confident the repeal effort will fail.

Board chairwoman Claire Ebel said the national Freedom to Marry organization stopped providing money for Baxley’s salary in May and instead poured resources into a new group it helped create, Standing Up For New Hampshire Families. She said Baxley worked for five months without pay, but could no longer afford to volunteer her time.

This comes at a time when the NH Republicans are trying to push through another anti-gay bill to get rid of New Hampshire’s already legalized gay marriages.

CONCORD, N.H. – A House panel votes Tuesday on whether to recommend repealing New Hampshire’s gay marriage law and replacing it with civil unions for any unmarried adults, including relatives. The Judiciary Committee will consider a subcommittee recommendation that the House pass the bill repealing the law that took effect last year legalizing same-sex unions.

It also would establish civil unions for any unmarried adults competent to enter into a contract.

Opponents said the bill doesn’t replace gay marriage with the civil unions law in effect before gays were allowed to marry. They said it takes the state back to a time before civil unions.

State Rep. David Bates, the bill’s sponsor, said there is no reason to limit civil unions and the legal protections they provide solely to same-sex couples. Instead screw everyone with illogical laws that just promote hatred and bigotry!

CONCORD, N.H. — A National Guard member will be allowed to bring her same-sex partner to a family Guard event in North Conway, N.H.

Chief Warrant Officer Charlie Morgan of Rye, N.H., had been told that her civil union partner could not attend the “yellow ribbon reintegration” program this weekend.

But Sen. Jeanne Shaheen said Wednesday that the Department of Defense had clarified regulations saying that gay and lesbian service members may take advantage of a regulation that allows service members to designate any one person, regardless of relationship, to join them at a yellow ribbon event.

Shaheen sent a letter to Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta Tuesday urging him to end what she called a discriminatory policy that bans same-sex spouses of returning Guard members from participating in National Guard family events.

Actor Zachary Quinto says he feels a range of emotions after coming out in a recent New York magazine interview but most of all he’s grateful for the kindness he’s received since.

“I feel so incredibly grateful to all of the people who’ve reached out to me directly or indirectly or just in spirit and I feel really, really like my entire future is laid out in a different way and it’s thrilling and scary and overwhelming,” said Quinto at the premiere of his film “Margin Call” Monday night in New York.

The 34-year-old looks forward to the day when saying you’re gay “won’t be hard” and won’t matter.

“There’ve been people on this path who were much bigger trailblazers than me who did this at a time when it was even harder…and if me standing up and making some kind of acknowledgement and declaration helps that then I can’t ask for anything more out of my life.”

Quinto is best known for playing Spock in the latest “Star Trek” movie and for the TV show “Heroes.”

See more at Wikipedia here!

ABC news anchor Dan Kloeffler was so enthusiastic about the news that “Star Trek” and “Heroes” actor Zachary Quinto had publicly disclosed that he’s gay that Kloeffler, too, burst out of the closet–on air.

Kloeffler was reporting on Quinto’s public emergence as a gay actor when he commented, almost in passing, “I’m thinking I can lose my [rule] about dating actors.”

Written by Associated Press

CONCORD, N.H.—Republican Fred Karger, who claims to be the first openly gay presidential candidate, signed his name and wrote “Equality for All!” on a keepsake poster Monday as he formally put his name on the ballot for New Hampshire’s yet-to-be scheduled presidential primary.

Karger, a longtime GOP operative from California who has been campaigning in New Hampshire for close to two years, was the first candidate to show up in person when the filing period opened Monday. But Ron Paul filed first by proxy, sending a staffer who quietly signed him up just after 8 a.m. By late afternoon, one other candidate — former Utah Gov. Jon Hunstman — had filed in person, and one — Andy Martin of Chicago — had filed by mail.

Karger, who hid his sexual orientation until three years ago, showed up at the Secretary of State’s Office with a campaign sign, an oversized mock check and a real check to pay the $1,000 filing period. He signed the filing paperwork and was the first candidate to scrawl a message on a poster that later will get reprinted in the state’s “red book,” a compilation of election results and political history.

“The fact that I’m here today in the secretary of state’s office with Secretary (Bill) Gardner, signing up and paying the filing fee to be in the New Hampshire primary is hugely significant for me personally, and for millions of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgendered Americans who are looking for hope and looking for the opportunity to live their lives honestly,” he said.

Karger said despite his years working behind the scenes in politics, he is an outsider. He described himself as someone who can bring back the same kind of optimism former President Ronald Reagan instilled in the American people.

“That’s what’s missing. It’s missing from President Obama, and I think from the rest of the Republicans running. I watch those debates — which I’m trying to get into — and it’s doom and gloom,” he said. “Let’s talk about the potential of this country.”

Huntsman arrived in the afternoon with his wife and a crowd of supporters who chanted “In the Hunt!” as he entered the office. He repeated that slogan when signing the poster, adding “and only in N.H.!” as a nod to his strategy of focusing almost exclusively on New Hampshire.

Huntsman said he has held about 80 events in the state so far and is prepared to do another 80.

“This is a state where conventional wisdom is always upended by candidates with good ideas and a vision for this country,” he said. “A state where residents take their first in the nation responsibility exceedingly seriously.”

Monday’s opening day was tame compared to four years ago, when a Minnesota fugitive living in Italy beat a costume-wearing ex-convict to become the first to file as an official candidate in the 2008 New Hampshire presidential primary. Jack Shepard’s courier package from Rome beat Robert Haines’ hand-delivered, incomplete petitions and $1,000 credit check to be the first accepted by the secretary of state. It took Haines more than 90 minutes to turn in his papers, after he embarked first on a loud and erratic one-man show that included five costume changes, multiple characters and cursing.

The current filing period runs through Oct. 28. Gardner set the filing period is earlier than usual in response to crowding by other states. He has said early December is a realistic option unless Nevada officials move their caucus back.

Gardner said Monday he is unlikely to announce the primary date this week.

Meet Herman Cain. He’s running for President because GOD told him to.

GOP presidential candidate Herman Cain said Monday he didn’t want to run for president, but God called him to join the race. The Republican candidate told CBN News that’s why he believes “God’s been in this from the beginning.” Cain said that when he felt God calling him to run for president, he resisted just as Moses did after being called by God to lead the Hebrews out of Egypt. Like Moses, Cain says he told God, “You’ve got the wrong person. You can’t be talking about me.” Cain told CBN News that it took a lot of those “conversations with God” to overcome his reluctance to seek the presidency.

It really is amazing how much GOD is talking to just the Republican candidates right now! And do you want a man who hears voices and thinks he’s Moses running our country???
